I find myself over and over again resorting to the fact that life is often driven by events (planned or spontaneous), emails, and links to information peers have sent with a "check this out" prompt, rather than the planned tasks set out for the day. Today it was an email about my attendance at a workshop for Developing a Strategic Plan which requested:

To get the most out of the workshop, please think carefully about your current mission and vision statements for your business. If you do not have a mission or vision statement, consider what you want your business to look like in five years and the guiding principles you will need to follow to reach your vision.

Mission statement, vision statement, guiding principles. I drew a long sigh fully realizing this was yet another diversion from my plans for the day, and settled into tackling this task. Oh sure, we've developed these important pieces for ourselves and others, yet it is suprising how having a newly-revised website causes me to wonder, "Now where did I put that?" This then, was the day to seek and find.

I'm grateful for info I can search and discover via the internet and to those who have written clarity about how each of these items, while related, are distinct from each other. I'm additionally grateful to our Business Development Consultant, Kay, who knows my dreams and goals for ZDI with a discernment I wish was my own.

During this reflective and creative journey today about where ZDI has been, where we are now, and where we would like to go, I have a sensory clarity about how writing these items out and publishing them will set into motion the next reality for ZDI. It's causing me to pull forward what has worked for us, what has organically become true, and blend that with the dreams, intentions, and goals we desire in our future.

I have this foolish idea that once created, that's it! Kay patiently reminds me, "It's a process, Zee." {smile}
